It spends most of its time in the deep waters, and only comes up to surface to breathe, or chase its prey

Has a second set of teeth in its upper palate that ensures any prey sliding down its throat will not be able to escape

Komodo dragon and monitor lizards are among the closest living relatives of mosasaurus

Has sideward facing eyes, which means it had poor stereoscopic vision

M. hoffmanni versus C. megalodon!
These animals were both apex predators of the sea. But they would have never met, as they were separated by 50 million years. After the Cretaceous period the Mosasaurus went extinct, this allowed massive sharks like megalodon to evolve to fill the void left behind. Both creatures were fairly the same size in length.
But if both were to live in the same time, who would've been the better predator?
